Indian Jews Exhibition
These exhibitions at the annual academic conferences at the University of Haifa showcased artifacts, photographs, and cultural materials illuminating the daily life, religious practices, and generational memory of four distinct Indian Jewish communities: Bene Israel, Cochini, Baghdadi, and Bene Menashe.
The collection was curated into five thematic categories:
• Synagogues: Architectural highlights and sacred spaces.
• Cemeteries: Memorial sites and ancestral histories.
• Judaica: Sacred objects, ritual items, and religious ceremonial art.
• Community Life: Candid moments, portraits, and multi-generational gatherings.
• Cuisine: Traditional culinary heritage and festive dishes.
